Community guidelines

Five commitments that keep this a place where meaningful discussion can become genuine friendship.

I

Inquiry with warmth

Question ideas vigorously; treat people gently. Disagreement is welcome — contempt is not. Assume good faith, and write with the same care you'd want to receive.

II

Views are views, not research

Posts in The Commons are personal opinions and experiences. They are never editor-verified research. Investigations shared from the site's AI research engine always carry an 'AI-assisted — not editor-verified' label; please keep that label intact when you discuss them.

III

Every path is welcome

Believers, seekers, skeptics, scientists, and the simply curious all belong here. No one may be attacked for their tradition, lack of one, or change of mind. Proselytizing pressure and anti-religious hostility are both out of place.

IV

Privacy and safety

Never share anyone's personal details — email, location, or private beliefs — and don't ask others to. Profiles are opt-in and contain only what members choose to show. No romantic solicitation, no unwanted contact, no hate speech, no spam.

V

How moderation works

Anyone can report a post, reply, or profile. Reports go to a human moderation queue — nothing is removed automatically. Moderators may remove content or suspend accounts that break these guidelines, and suspensions can be appealed through the About page. You can also block any member to hide their content from your own view.
